This past weekend we went on a Road Trip to Yuma to visit Wes' sister Gigi. She was Eliza Doolittle in "My Fair Lady."
With a 12 hour drive ahead of us we left Friday night after Wes got home from Orientation and headed to St. George. Where we spent the night.
Then it was another 6 hours to get to Yuma. Sophie and Oliver were great! They mostly wanted to color and watch a couple movies.
We finally arrived in Arizona Saturday afternoon where it was 75 degrees.
Sunday afternoon Wes and I were able to go and see Gigi in her play. While Jeff watched Sophie and Oliver for us. Gigi was amazing! It was so fun to come and support her.
We were amazed to see lettuce growing in the fields of Yuma.
Sophie and Oliver loved spending time with their cousins! Most of the time we were there was spent outside playing. Such a nice change from the freezing cold weather in Utah.
Monday morning we left Yuma and headed to Nevada to stay the night in Las Vegas.
We stayed the night at Treasure Island on the strip. The pirate ships and show was fun, complete with fireworks!
Tuesday morning we walked over to see the Canals and were able to see the Gondola's and hear the drivers singing. It felt just like we were in Italy. Sophie's favorite part? Riding the moving sidewalks. Oliver he loved riding the tram.
It was so fun to get away for a few days and spend time together. It feels good to be home. If only it was 75 degrees here....
