As many of you might know, my Grandpa Burgess passed away early friday morning. It's been a real shock, no one had any idea this would happen. He had been sick for a while and his heart just gave out while he was sleeping.
He always kept Cherry Twizzlers and Juicy Fruit gum in his truck. He'd always tell me there was a special treat waiting for us in the truck.
He taught me lessons on the farm. It just wasn't about growing apples or making money. He used the orchard to teach me about life and how to work hard.
He would always say to me, " How's my girl?"
No matter how hard things were for him he was always thinking about me and my family and how he could help out.
He let us sell apples about a month ago and keep the money to help Wes and I. That money helped buy our groceries. I'll never forget that.
He never missed any of my dance recitals or band concerts, he was always there cheering me on and supporting me.
Thank you Grandpa for the great example you were to me. I'm going to miss seeing your smiling face and having you ask how we are doing. Thanks for all the memories and for teaching me how to work.
None of us knew my Grandpa would leave us so soon. I don't know what he saw or heard but he was ready to leave this world. He didn't have anything to fix or do, he was ready and worthy. That is such a great example for us all.
I love you Grandpa and will always remember the lessons you have taught me.
