No more Pacifiers

I'd been lazy lately about Sophie's pacifier. Since she was sick for a few months I just let her have it whenever, all the time. About 2 weeks ago I just had it! I was sick and tired of her crying all day long fussing for her pacifier. So, I just decided to go cold turkey. We found them all and stashed them away in the cupboard. Things were going really well until she found them.

She thought if she said "Please" we would give her one....
But when Daddy wouldn't open the bag she looked at me...

Priceless. Her finding all 10 of them. I knew what she was thinking. "I knew it! I was wondering where these all went!"
Well, we made her throw them away. For a few days she kept looking in the garbage trying to find them. But they are long gone now.

Sophie....it's not easy letting go of people and things that you love alot. Some days you cry, some days you sigh, and then you go find a good book to read. A tip from Aunt Vanee'....ice cream is a wonderful distraction!

I'm so glad you took these pictures Jess. She will smile about it when she is older. It's pretty tuff when you have to grow up. . . .I think Sophie needs some Grandma Jewel time, with some chalk, toys, otter pops and the big red slide. Hurry over Sophie. . . I love you.

Sophie is growing up way too fast. The pictures are cute that you put up. It's always hard to be a "big girl".

Hugs and kisses to you Sophie!!
Love Aunt Val

Way to catch those kodak moments Jessica....It's always fun to see how our kids react to the smallest things. Good luck with the pacifer cold turkey.

We love you Sophie!!!
Maybe your mom could now start on a sucker or treat jar for those times you just need to suck on something.

that is so funny! I did the same with annie, she just found some the other day, and now they are just play things to her. she sucks on them a little bit, but mostly just carries them around for her babies!
i love how she said please!
